Job Title: Teaching Internship

About the Opportunity:
This Teaching Internship offers university students a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of what life in the classroom is truly like. Designed to help you understand the realities of teaching, the internship provides valuable insights into the profession before you commit to a full teacher training programme. Upon completion, you can decide if pursuing Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England is the right path for you.

Internship Details:
Duration: 3 weeks
Start Dates: June or July
Remuneration: £455 per week
Purpose: To help you understand and experience the teaching profession.

Who Can Apply:
Academic Status:
• Undergraduate students in their second, third, or final year of study.
• Students pursuing a master’s degree.
Subject Interest: You must be studying for a related undergraduate or master’s degree and be interested in teaching one of the following subjects:
Chemistry
Computing
Design and Technology
Languages
Maths
Physics
• (Note: If you’re interested in a different subject, you can still seek general school experience.)
Right to Work (for Non-UK Citizens): If you are not a UK citizen, you must have the right to work in the UK from the internship start date upon successful application.

What You’ll Experience:
This internship is designed to give you a comprehensive feel for what life as a teacher is like, both inside and outside the classroom. You will have the opportunity to:
Shadow experienced teachers and observe live lessons.
Jointly plan and teach lessons, gaining practical classroom experience.
• Receive one-to-one guidance from outstanding classroom teachers and subject specialists.
• Understand and experience various aspects of school life outside of the classroom.
• Benefit from a unique insight into teacher training and the application process.
