Job Description: Tax Winter 2026 Internship – Bethesda, MD
Role Title: Tax Winter Intern
Location: Bethesda, MD
Internship Period: January to April 2026
Firm and Team Environment:
• CohnReznick is a hybrid firm, with professionals encouraged to work from the office or in-person with their team approximately 3 days a week.
• Interns will be part of an engagement team working closely with Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• The firm serves a diverse range of industries, including Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services (industry focus may vary by office).
• Interns will receive support from a Performance Coach for goal setting, feedback, and career guidance, as well as a CR Friend to help them acclimate to the firm.
• The Bethesda office offers various amenities and collaborative spaces.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
As a Tax Winter Intern, you will be responsible for developing an understanding of current tax theories and laws and executing procedures according to firm standards. Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing various client deliverables, specifically individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Identifying potential tax issues.
• Preparing tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client-provided trial balances.
• Assisting the team with daily client workflow.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
CohnReznick seeks dedicated students who are driven by challenges and growth opportunities, value client service, and enjoy a collaborative environment. Successful candidates will possess:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A plan to complete 150 credit hours between May 2026 – September 2027 to qualify for CPA licensure.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA in both their major and overall coursework.
• Successful completion of at least two accounting courses prior to the internship start.
• Demonstrated leadership positions in student organizations, extracurricular activities, and/or team projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team setting.
• A strong capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proof of work authorization, such as U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency status, as CohnReznick does not offer sponsorship to foreign nationals for Entry Level Roles (new associates and interns).
Desired Experience (Plus):
• Prior work or internship experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
• The salary for a Tax Intern in Maryland is $34 per hour.
