About the Job: Tax Summer Intern (2026 Internship Program)
Schneider Downs is seeking motivated students to join their 2026 internship program as a Tax Summer Intern. This program is designed to give students meaningful work experiences in the public accounting environment while supporting the firm’s hiring needs. Interns are eligible for conversion into full-time employment after graduation, based upon individual performance and department need.
Role Summary:
As a Tax Summer Intern, you will work as a member of the engagement team. Your primary responsibility will be assisting with the completion of various assigned projects, including the preparation of corporate and individual tax returns. You will be part of a learning culture that values quality and integrity, and you will be supported by Schneider Downs professionals.
Work Environment and Schedule:
Schneider Downs has embraced a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work from home as well as in the office. The summer session typically runs from mid-May until mid-August. Interns are expected to be available during working hours, Monday through Friday, 9 am through 5 pm.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
• Support various assigned projects that assist with the completion of the engagement, including both tax compliance and tax consulting matters.
• Research and analyze accounting and tax-related issues.
• Utilize data extraction, data analytics, and data visualization tools to bring insight to clients.
• Proactively interact with the engagement team to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
What You’ll Need (Requirements):
• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting.
• Must have an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027.
• Must be available to begin full-time work between January 2027 and October 2027.
• A preferred overall GPA of 3.3 (3.0 minimum), or a combination of educational success and applicable work and/or volunteer experience.
• Plans to pursue minimum requirements for CPA eligibility.
