Job Description:
This is for a Tax Summer 2027 Internship located in Bethesda, MD.
• Internship Term: The posting *initially• mentions Summer 2026 (June to August 2026) but the job title specifies “Summer 2027”. Given the CPA licensing requirement (May 2027 – Sept 2028), it’s most likely for Summer 2027.
• Work Model: CohnReznick operates as a hybrid firm. Team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional about in-person collaboration, with a general encouragement to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.
• Your Team: Interns will work closely with a team comprising other Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• Industries: The firm serves a variety of clients across sectors such as Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services (which may vary by office).
• Office: The Bethesda office offers amenities and collaborative spaces.
• Support System: Each intern will have a Performance Coach to establish goals, provide feedback, and guide career development, as well as a CR Friend for initial support and as a familiar contact.
• Your Role (Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To):
• Becoming familiar with current tax theories and laws.
• Performing procedures in accordance with firm standards accurately, thoroughly, and timely.
• Working on a variety of client deliverables, including the preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Identifying potential tax issues.
• Preparing tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client-provided trial balances.
• Assisting the team with daily client workflow.
• Your Experience (Required Qualifications):
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Plan to complete 150 credit hours between May 2027 – September 2028 to be eligible for CPA licensure.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA in both your major and overall studies.
• Successful completion of two accounting courses prior to the start of the internship.
• Held leadership positions in student organizations, extracurricular activities, and/or on team projects.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Able to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Prior work or internship experience is a plus.
• Work Authorization: CohnReznick does not offer sponsorship to foreign nationals for Entry Level Roles (new associates and interns). Successful candidates must provide proof of work authorization such as U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency status.
• Compensation: In Maryland, the salary for a Tax Intern is $34 per hour. This is part of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which includes access to best-in-class learning and development platforms.
