Tax Services Manager, Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) | Ernst and Young
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Ernst and Young, located in various US cities including New York, Hoboken, Charlotte, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Seattle, Dallas, Miami, and Washington. At EY, professionals help build a better working world by providing specific tax technical services to US and global clients within the National Tax and EY EDGE practices. This role within the Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) practice is crucial for helping clients effectively manage global bookkeeping and finance compliance obligations across over 150 countries. As a Tax Services Manager, you will be at the heart of making a critical difference by managing clients’ finance functions, reducing inefficiencies, mitigating risk, and driving process improvement.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Service Management: Manage client engagements and deliver timely, high-quality services that exceed expectations, maintaining daily contact with local EY ACR teams.
• Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for client relationships, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of client businesses.
• Professional Development: Help develop and guide senior/staff and other junior professionals by providing effective performance feedback and aligning team responsibilities with skills.
• Technical Competence and Data Analysis: Build on technical competence by staying current on global trends and regulations, applying them to complex situations, and analyzing complex data sets and trends.
• Engagement Ownership: Take ownership of engagements, make decisions, resolve issues, and escalate client and internal partner issues while working under pressure and strict deadlines.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or other related business major, demonstrating knowledge of global statutory reporting and/or bookkeeping.
• Experience: 5 – 7 years’ work experience in audit/accounting, with a required approved technical certification, CPA license, or membership to a state Bar.
• Skills: Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills for problem-solving, along with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and IT concepts.
• Bonus: Client-facing exposure in a global role, basic understanding of IT systems (SAP, Oracle, Business Central), and basic understanding of other compliance activities like global indirect tax and corporate tax.
