Job Description: Tax Seasonal Intern – Business Tax Services

KPMG is seeking a Tax Seasonal Intern for its Business Tax Services practice. The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

Tax Compliance: Performing tax-related tasks for various clients, including partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations.
Data Analytics: Participating in data analytics assignments using KPMG’s technology. This includes creating tax return work papers and tax returns for corporate clients and coordinating offshore resources.
Client Relationship Development: Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to foster and maintain strong client relationships.
Professional Development: Staying current on the latest tax practices and building capabilities in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI to enhance client service delivery.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program.
Preferred Qualifications: A degree and/or area of study in Accounting and Taxation is preferred, along with pursuit of CPA licensure requirements (completion of academic credits needed before becoming a Tax Associate) in the office’s location. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is also preferred. Coursework or a minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data analytics is advantageous.
Skills & Attributes: The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong service mindset, excellent technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and possess excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. They should be a flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work, and able to learn and navigate new technologies.
Location & Travel: Must reside within a commutable distance of the office and be able to travel to other work locations using personal transportation. Travel to client premises may be required on short notice.
Legal Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without needing employment-based visa sponsorship. KPMG does not sponsor visas for this position.
