Job Description: Tax Seasonal Intern – Global Mobility Services
KPMG is seeking a Tax Seasonal Intern to join its Global Mobility Services practice. The intern will provide support to KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals in tax compliance and advisory services for multinational companies and their mobile employees working internationally or domestically.
Responsibilities:
• Support KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals in providing tax compliance and advisory services to multinational companies and their mobile employees. This includes supporting those working internationally (outside their home countries) or domestically (state-to-state business travelers).
• Collaborate with KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals to assist tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies in managing the tax implications of their global workforce.
• Prepare client correspondence and calculations on various international assignment matters, including policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements, and tax reconciliations.
• Analyze and track expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility, and other assignment-related issues.
• Prepare reports, analyze data, and track global mobility tax compliance status and other assignment-related projects.
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to utilize both languages in a business environment.
• Upon internship completion, candidates must have additional academic credits needed to complete their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Preferred coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax is preferred. Additional foreign language skills are also preferred.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude; critical thinking skills; and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; ability to be a flexible and adaptable team player; and resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using personal transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship (no sponsorship is available).
