Description: Tax Seasonal Intern – Business Tax Services

This internship within KPMG’s Business Tax Services practice involves performing various tax-related tasks centered around tax compliance for a diverse client base, including partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations. Specific responsibilities include:

Tax Compliance: Performing tax-related tasks associated with tax compliance for a variety of clients.
Data Analytics: Participating in data analytics assignments utilizing KPMG’s technology. This includes using tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Tax Return Preparation: Creating tax return work papers and tax returns for corporate clients.
Resource Coordination: Coordinating with offshore resources.
Client Relationship Management: Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Professional Development: Staying current on the latest tax practices and building capabilities in key technologies used for client service delivery.

Required Currently pursuings:

• Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and possess reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (no sponsorship is available).

Preferred Currently pursuings:

Degree/Area of Study: Accounting and Taxation.
GPA: 3.0 or above.
CPA Track: Pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business.
Technical Skills: Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics.
Soft Skills: Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude; critical thinking skills; proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexibility and adaptability as a team player; resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
