Job Description: Tax Part-Time Intern – Business Tax Services

KPMG is seeking a part-time Tax Intern for its Business Tax Services practice. The role involves performing various tax-related tasks, contributing to data analytics projects, and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Performing tax compliance tasks for a diverse client base (partnerships, corporations, S-corporations).
• Participating in data analytics assignments utilizing KPMG’s technology.
• Creating tax return work papers and tax returns for corporate clients.
• Coordinating with offshore resources.
• Building and maintaining excellent client relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Staying current on evolving tax practices.
• Developing skills in key technologies used in client service delivery, including artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program.
Preferred: Accounting and Taxation degrees/areas of study. Pursuing CPA licensure requirements in the office’s state (completion of necessary academic credits before starting as a Tax Associate). GPA of 3.0 or above. Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality service, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; ability to work effectively as a flexible and adaptable team player; resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, sometimes on short notice.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship. (No sponsorship is available).
