Job Description: Tax Part-Time Intern – Business Tax Services

KPMG is seeking a part-time Tax Intern for its Business Tax Services practice. This internship offers opportunities to work with high-profile clients on complex business opportunities and challenges. The intern will contribute to a diverse team and develop their career through multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tax-related tasks involving tax compliance for a variety of clients (partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations).
• Participate in data analytics assignments utilizing KPMG’s technology.
• Create tax return work papers and tax returns for corporate clients.
• Coordinate with offshore resources.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to build and maintain excellent client relationships.
• Stay current on the latest tax practices.
• Develop capabilities in key technologies used by tax professionals for client service delivery (e.g., artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI).

Qualifications:

Required: Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Preferred:
• Degree/area of study in Accounting and Taxation.
• Pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the relevant state (completion of academic credits required before becoming a Tax Associate).
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data analytics.
• Demonstrated strong service mindset; technical aptitude; critical thinking skills; proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and use technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
