Federal Tax Services Intern – Winter 2027 | RSM US LLP

• Mission: Help middle market clients navigate a complex and changing tax landscape by providing federal and state tax services, including planning, preparation, and regulatory insights, ultimately instilling confidence and empowering them to realize their full potential.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Specialty Engagement: Collaborate with teams on a wide range of tax specialty areas, including accounting for income taxes, accounting methods and periods, corporate taxation, federal credits and incentives, individual taxation, mergers and acquisitions, pass-through entity taxation, private client services, and not for profit organizations.
• Tax Planning & Research: Complete comprehensive tax planning and research to address client needs.
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare federal and state & local tax returns accurately.
• Regulatory Analysis: Understand and apply tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an Entry-Level role. Candidates must be actively pursuing a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university, with an Accounting Major, and have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours.
• Experience: Required travel to assigned client locations. Candidates must have access to and the ability to arrange for reliable modes of transportation to these locations.
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred. Preferred qualifications also include excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and the capacity to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
