Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Mobility Services

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its Global Mobility Services practice. This role involves supporting tax professionals in providing tax compliance and advisory services to multinational companies and their mobile employees. Specific responsibilities include:

Providing support to KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals: This entails assisting with tax compliance and advisory services for multinational companies and their employees working internationally (assigned outside their home countries) or domestically (state-to-state business travelers).

Collaborating with KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals: The intern will work alongside senior professionals to assist companies in managing the tax implications of their global workforce.

Preparing client correspondence and calculations: This involves creating documents and performing calculations related to international assignments, including policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements, and reconciliations.

Analyzing and tracking expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, and other assignment-related issues: The intern will analyze data and track key metrics related to employee assignments.

Preparing reports and analyzing data: This includes generating reports on global mobility tax compliance status and other assignment-related projects.

Building capabilities in key technologies: The intern will gain experience with technologies used in client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.

Qualifications:

Enrollment in an accredited college or university: Pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree. Additional academic credits must remain to be completed after the internship. CPA eligibility is a plus.
Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Preferred coursework or concentration: Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration.
Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax is preferred.
Foreign language skills are preferred.
Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have reliable transportation.
Ability to travel to client premises as needed.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
