Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Mobility Services

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its Global Mobility Services practice. The intern will provide support to tax professionals in delivering tax compliance and advisory services to multinational companies and their mobile employees. This includes both international assignments (employees working outside their home countries) and domestic state-to-state business travel.

Responsibilities:

• Support KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals in providing tax compliance and advisory services to multinational companies and their mobile employees.
• Collaborate with KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals and support tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies in managing the tax implications of their global workforce.
• Prepare client correspondence and calculations related to international assignments, including policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements, and tax reconciliations.
• Analyze and track expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility, and other assignment-related issues.
• Prepare reports, analyze data, and track global mobility tax compliance status and other assignment-related projects.
• Develop skills in key technologies used for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree.
• Upon internship completion, candidates must have remaining academic credits before graduation and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Preferred coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax is preferred.
• Foreign language skills are a plus.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; ability to work flexibly and adapt within a team environment.
• Resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and utilize technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship is preferred.
