2028 National Tax Office – Federal Tax Consulting Intern | Plante Moran

This is a hybrid internship position at Plante Moran, available across various offices in Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Massachusetts. The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Consulting: Consult on tax planning strategies to achieve business and individual tax objectives for clients.
• Reviewing: Review opportunities to optimize the timing of tax income and deductions through accounting method planning.
• Evaluating: Evaluate tax planning strategies resulting from new legislation, regulations, and market developments.
• Researching: Research technical positions and draft memos and other position papers for a variety of federal tax matters.
• Assisting: Assist with federal tax consulting projects involving corporate, partnership, and individual taxation across all industries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, with an intention to pursue CPA licensure and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required for this internship role.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and research skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Prior coursework in federal income taxation, corporate taxation, partnership taxation, or advanced tax topics is preferred.
