Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for their Global Executive & Private Client Group practice. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain valuable experience in international tax.

Responsibilities:

International Tax Compliance: Support clients in analyzing tax implications of international operations, preparing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, and utilizing foreign tax credits and tax treaties.
Global Expansion Support: Assist corporations in establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
Executive Compensation: Help clients determine appropriate compensation packages for executives working on international assignments, supporting global payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with local laws.
Global Mobility Program Support: Provide global coordination and support for KPMG’s corporate clients’ global mobility programs, implementing processes and technologies for managing their global workforce.
Engagement Administration: Assist Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
Technology Skills Development: Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance, or equivalent program.
GPA: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Japanese, with the ability to use both languages in a business environment is a plus.
Technical Skills: Able to analyze basic tax and accounting information, demonstrate strong technical aptitude, and navigate MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
Technology Proficiency: Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Location: Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
Travel: Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred.
