Tax Intern – International Tax Practice

KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern to join their International Tax practice. As an intern, you will:

Collaborate with colleagues: Advise multinational enterprises on tax matters related to cross-border transactions, including:
• Optimizing global supply chains
• Accessing and mobilizing capital for global operations
Provide tax structuring advice: Assist private equity and strategic corporate clients with:
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Joint ventures
• Dispositions
• Initial public offerings (IPOs)
• Internal restructuring transactions
Stay up-to-date on tax law changes:
• Participate in KPMG training and materials.
• Conduct independent study to advise clients on the impact of changes on their businesses.
• Provide recommendations to address potential risks or realize opportunities.
Prepare tax-related deliverables: Assist with:
• International tax elements of financial statement tax provision calculations.
• International tax elements of U.S. federal income tax returns.
• Audits of financial statements, including tax implications of global operations and transactions.
Create deliverables: Prepare tax calculations (models), slide decks, memorandums, and emails under the guidance of experienced team members.
Develop key technology skills: Gain experience with:
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Alteryx
• Power BI

Qualifications:

Enrolled in an accredited college or university: Pursuing a JD or LLM in Taxation, or an equivalent program.
Strong academic record: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Interest in international and domestic tax law: Exposure to a broad range of U.S. tax law provisions.
Demonstrated service mindset: Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, research skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Excellent communication and time management skills: Flexible and adaptable team player with resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
Adaptability to technology: Ability to learn and utilize technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Commutable location: Reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations independently (personal vehicle or public transportation).
Travel readiness: Ability to travel and work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
U.S. work authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
