Winter Tax Internship: January – March 2027 | Brighton Jones
The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Brighton Jones, located in Dallas, TX, for January through March 2027. This role is designed for a university student to gain immediate, hands-on experience preparing tax returns for high-net-worth clients, contributing to the essential tax compliance process alongside experienced professionals within a collaborative team environment.
The TL;DR

• Mission: Manage the tax compliance process for high-net-worth clients’ individual income tax, trust, and gift tax returns.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Collection: Assist with the process of collecting data and preparing it for electronic work papers.
• Data Entry: Input tax data into appropriate software systems accurately.
• Work Paper Production: Produce electronic work papers for next-level review, ensuring conformance with department standards.
• Team Support: Assist team members with various tasks as needed to support overall operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current university student, entry-level, working towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics.
• Experience: Academic success and other internships or work-related experience are encouraged. No specific years of experience are required.
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency including Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems. A commitment to excellence and a drive to maintain high standards in all tasks. Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration abilities for building trust with colleagues. Excellent work habits, featuring a self-starter mentality that proactively manages workloads and takes ownership of task prioritization. Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated teamwork mentality. Highly motivated to work effectively in a busy environment. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for engaging in company culture.
• Bonus: Undergraduate exposure to tax accounting is a plus. Strong desire to pursue the CPA designation.
