Tax Intern Job Description:

KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern for their Global Executive & Private Client Group practice in Tax.

Responsibilities:

• Support clients in analyzing international tax implications, filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, and preparing Federal and State individual income tax returns.
• Analyze and utilize foreign tax credits between countries, tax treaties, and identify opportunities for global tax planning to minimize overall tax costs.
• Assist corporations in establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
• Help clients determine appropriate compensation packages for executives working internationally, assist with global payroll setup and support, and ensure compliance with applicable laws in different locations.
• Provide global coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients in managing global mobility programs, implementing processes and technologies for efficient workforce management.
• Assist Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
• Develop skills in key technologies used for client service delivery, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree with a concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance, or an equivalent program.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese with the ability to use both languages in a business environment is a plus.
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Flexible and adaptable team player with a resourceful approach to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to other work locations using personal transportation or public transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred.
