Description – Tax Intern

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join their State & Local Tax practice. This is an opportunity to join a diverse team that assists high-profile clients in understanding, analyzing, and responding to complex business opportunities and challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients in gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
• Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.
• Communicate with clients in a timely and effective manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues.
• Develop process documents, data intake forms, tools, and work plans for projects.
• Understand business rules and requirements, applying knowledge to client applications and deliverables.
• Build capabilities in key technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, etc.

Currently pursuings:

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Systems, or a related field.
• Must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Proficiency in MS Access, VB, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or similar software is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and ability to navigate MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and navigate technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a reasonable distance from the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation or public transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
