Tax Intern Description:
Responsibilities:
• Plan and prepare tax returns for individuals.
• Plan and prepare other tax compliance services as directed, including trust returns and income tax extensions.
• Scan and file tax documents into software for review.
• Familiarize yourself with and effectively utilize software in assigned areas.
• Communicate clear and concise project status updates to supervisors, managers, and partners.
Key Objectives:
• Approach daily tasks with Bowers’ mission and client-centric philosophy in mind.
• Master the tax return process: information gathering, client follow-up, preparation, and completion.
• Develop the ability to identify, understand, and address accounting issues.
• Strengthen written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.
• Actively participate in firm outings and activities when possible.
Currently pursuings:
• Actively enrolled in a major related to Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in public accounting.
• Preferably pursuing the 150-credit hour academic requirement towards CPA eligibility.
• Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Internship Details:
• Available in Syracuse, Rochester, and Watertown offices.
• In-office internships.
• Hours flexible based on college schedules.
• Pay: $20.00-$30.00/hour.
