Description: Tax Intern (Global Executive & Private Client Group)
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for their Global Executive & Private Client Group practice in Tax. This internship offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team helping high-profile clients navigate complex business opportunities and challenges.
Responsibilities:
• International Tax: Support clients in analyzing tax implications of working internationally and filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions. This includes:
• Preparing Federal and State individual income tax returns
• Analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits between countries and tax treaties
• Identifying global tax planning opportunities to minimize overall tax costs
• Global Business Expansion: Assist corporations with setting up operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
• Executive Compensation & Global Payroll: Help clients determine appropriate compensation packages for executives working on international assignments. Assist with setting up and supporting global payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable country laws.
• Global Mobility Program Support: Provide global coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients with all aspects of running a global mobility program. This includes implementing processes and technologies for efficient global workforce management.
• Engagement Administration and Scoping: Assist Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
• Technology Development: Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, including artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Currently pursuings:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree with a concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance, or an equivalent program.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese with the ability to use both languages in a business environment is a plus.
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and ability to navigate MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
