• Mission: Perform various accounting and tax-related responsibilities, utilizing educational knowledge and experience to support client engagements and firm standards effectively.
• Tech Stack: Current tax and accounting software applications are used to support daily tasks and client deliverables.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Communication: Respond to client and firm associate requests, providing accurate and professional responses, and working to gather necessary client information.
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections according to firm and professional standards under engagement leader direction.
• Software Application & Research: Understand and effectively use current tax and accounting software applications, and research tax-related issues.
• Data Analysis & Process Improvement: Utilize data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency.
• Client Interviews: Perform a limited number of tax return interviews as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship position, requiring candidates to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. Completion of a corporate or individual taxation class is a mandatory prerequisite for this role.
• Experience: Candidates must demonstrate above-average knowledge in accounting, preferably evidenced by a college GPA of 3.0 or higher. The intern should be actively working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Skills: Essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with clients and staff; the capacity to think independently and make sound decisions based on education and experience; and the capability to prioritize tasks, follow through on requests, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
