Tax Intern – Commercial Japanese Practice in Business Tax Services
Responsibilities:
• Assist clients with a full range of corporate tax services, including compliance, planning, and research.
• Help prepare corporate tax returns for Japanese-owned companies doing business in the United States.
• Assist with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740 and IAS 12) reported on financial statements.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive tax services to Japanese-based companies.
• Develop expertise in key technologies used in tax professional services, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Currently pursuings:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial or systems), or an equivalent program.
• Preferred: Degrees in accounting and taxation, pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese, with the ability to use both languages effectively in a business environment.
• Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
• Demonstrated strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills, a flexible and adaptable team player, and a resourceful approach to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and utilize technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation or public transit.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed, sometimes on short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
