Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Global Executive & Private Client Group. This internship offers multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring opportunities.
Responsibilities:
• Support clients in analyzing international tax implications, preparing individual income tax returns (Federal and State), analyzing foreign tax credits and treaties, and identifying global tax planning opportunities for cost minimization.
• Assist corporations with establishing operations in new countries, ensuring tax compliance for both corporations and executives.
• Help determine executive compensation packages for international assignments, supporting global payroll processes and ensuring compliance with applicable laws in various locations.
• Provide global coordination and support to corporate clients on all aspects of global mobility programs, including process and technology implementation for efficient workforce management.
• Assist Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping.
• Develop capabilities in key technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Qualifications:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance (or equivalent).
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Additional academic credits required upon internship completion before degree attainment and/or CPA eligibility.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese (a plus).
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and utilize technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (preferred).
