Job Description: Tax Intern (Korean Practice, Business Tax Services)
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Korean practice within Business Tax Services. This internship offers a multifaceted experience involving various responsibilities:
• Supporting tax-related tasks for a diverse client base. This includes participation in a wide range of assignments, contributing to the development and maintenance of strong client relationships within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Staying current with the latest tax practices. Interns will be expected to continuously update their knowledge and skills in this dynamic field.
• Developing proficiency in key technologies. This includes building skills in AI, Alteryx, Power BI, and other technologies that support client service delivery.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
• Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, or engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and have reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree or area of study in Accounting and Taxation.
• Progress towards CPA licensure requirements in the relevant state (completion of academic credits required before starting as a Tax Associate).
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Bilingual in English and Korean, with the ability to utilize both languages effectively in a business environment.
• Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics.
• Demonstrated strong service mindset, technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively as a flexible and adaptable team player.
