Description: Tax Intern – International Tax Practice
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its International Tax practice. The role involves advising clients on import and export matters across various industries, examining U.S. and international trade issues, and conducting research and writing on international trade advice. The intern will also:
• Formulate and present cost-saving opportunities related to international trade.
• Contribute to the timely and budget-conscious delivery of multiple client engagements.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients to manage expectations and enhance satisfaction.
• Assist clients in implementing global trade automated solutions.
• Develop skills in key technologies relevant to tax professionals, including AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Work in a professional and responsible manner, upholding KPMG’s ethical standards.
Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for advising clients on import and export matters across a variety of industries, examining U.S. and international import and export trade matters, researching, writing, and reviewing international trade advice, formulating and delivering ideas for trade savings opportunities, and assisting in the delivery of multiple client engagements while maintaining communication with clients. The intern will also support clients with the implementation of global trade automated solutions and build capabilities in key technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Currently pursuings:
• Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business (Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Tax, or related field), International Affairs (International Studies, Political Science, Sociology), Data Science, or a comparable program.
• Remaining academic credits to complete their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements post-internship.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality service, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; a flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and utilize technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Residency within reasonable commuting distance to the office and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (preferred).
