Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Global Executive & Private Client Group. This internship offers multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring opportunities for career development. The role involves supporting clients with various international tax matters, including:

International Tax Compliance and Planning: Analyzing the tax implications of international work, preparing federal and state individual income tax returns, utilizing foreign tax credits and tax treaties, and identifying global tax planning opportunities to minimize tax costs.
International Business Setup: Assisting corporations in establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with tax and social security regulations.
Executive Compensation and Global Payroll: Determining appropriate compensation packages for executives on international assignments, supporting global payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws in multiple locations.
Global Mobility Program Support: Providing coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients in managing their global workforce, including implementing processes and technologies for efficient workforce management.
Engagement Administration: Assisting associates and senior associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
Technology Development: Building capabilities in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI to enhance client service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance, or an equivalent program.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Upon internship completion, candidates must have remaining academic credits before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese is a plus.
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; ability to work as a flexible and adaptable team player.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have access to transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship is preferred.
