Job Description: Tax Intern (Korean Practice, Business Tax Services)

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Korean practice within Business Tax Services. This internship offers a multifaceted experience involving:

Client Support: Providing support on various tax-related tasks for a diverse client base.
Project Involvement: Participating in a wide range of assignments across the full spectrum of tax services.
Teamwork: Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to foster strong client relationships.
Professional Development: Staying current on the latest tax practices and building proficiency in key technologies vital for client service delivery, including artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, or engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program. A degree in accounting and taxation is preferred.
CPA Track: Progressing towards fulfilling the educational requirements for CPA licensure in the relevant state (where the office is located) before transitioning to a Tax Associate role (necessary academic credits must be completed before starting).
GPA: A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Korean, capable of using both languages effectively in a business environment.
Technical Skills: Coursework or a minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data analytics is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is essential. The ability to learn and utilize technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI is highly valued.
Soft Skills: A demonstrated commitment to quality service; strong technical aptitude; critical thinking skills; excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; adaptability; teamwork; resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
Location: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to client sites as needed (potentially with short notice), using personal transportation.
Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
