Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group

This internship offers multifaceted engagements within KPMG’s Global Executive & Private Client Group. The successful candidate will support senior team members in providing tax services to high-profile clients, focusing on international tax matters.

Responsibilities:

International Tax Compliance & Planning: Supporting clients in analyzing the tax implications of international work, filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions (including Federal and State returns), analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits and tax treaties, and identifying global tax planning opportunities for cost minimization.
International Business Setup: Assisting corporations with establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax regulations.
Executive Compensation & Global Payroll: Determining appropriate compensation packages for executives on international assignments, supporting the global payroll process, and ensuring compliance with laws in multiple locations.
Global Mobility Program Support: Providing global coordination and support to corporate clients in managing their global workforce, including implementing processes and technologies for efficient workforce management.
Engagement Administration: Assisting Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
Technology Skill Development: Building capabilities in key technologies used in client service delivery, such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance (or equivalent). A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above is desired. Upon internship completion, additional academic credits must be remaining to complete the degree and/or meet CPA eligibility requirements.
Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is a plus.
Technical Skills: Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information, demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and a willingness to learn and utilize technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Soft Skills: Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate is a flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
Location & Travel: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to client premises as needed, potentially with short notice. Own transportation is required.
Legal Requirements: Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship is preferred.
