Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for their Global Executive & Private Client Group practice in Tax.

This internship provides an opportunity to work with high-profile clients and gain practical experience in international tax matters.

Responsibilities:

• Support clients in analyzing tax implications of working internationally and filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions. This includes:
• Preparing Federal and State(s) individual income tax returns.
• Analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits between countries and tax treaties.
• Identifying opportunities for global tax planning to minimize overall tax costs.
• Assist corporations with setting up operations in new countries.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
• Help clients determine appropriate compensation packages for executives working on international assignments.
• Assist with setting up and supporting their global payroll process.
• Ensure compliance with the laws of multiple countries.
• Provide global coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients with all aspects of running a global mobility program.
• Implement processes and technologies for efficiently managing their global workforce.
• Assist Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
• Build capabilities in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following:
• Tax
• Accounting
• International Business
• Human Resources
• Finance
• Or equivalent program
Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
Bilingual in English and Japanese with the ability to use both languages in a business environment is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
Demonstrated quality service mindset with strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
Flexible and adaptable team player with a resourceful approach to delivering high-quality work.
Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using their own means of transportation.
Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred.
