Job Description:

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its Global Mobility Services practice. This position will offer hands-on experience working with a dynamic team of professionals on tax compliance and advisory services for multinational companies and their mobile employees.

Responsibilities:

Support KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals: Provide assistance with tax compliance and advisory services for multinational companies and their mobile employees.
Collaborate with KPMG’s Global Mobility Services team: Work alongside professionals to support tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies.
Manage tax implications of a global workforce: Assist in managing the tax consequences of employees working across international borders (assigned outside their home country) or domestically within different states.
Prepare client correspondence and calculations: Generate client correspondence and perform calculations on various international assignment matters. This includes policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements, and tax reconciliations.
Analyze and track expatriate payroll and compensation: Analyze and track data related to expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility, and other assignment-related issues.
Prepare reports and analyze data: Develop and analyze reports related to global mobility tax compliance status and other assignment-related projects.
Develop skills in key technologies: Build expertise in key technologies that enable tax professionals to deliver client services effectively. This includes artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields.
GPA: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Coursework: Coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax is preferred.
Language Skills: Foreign language skills are a plus.

• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player.

• Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Location: Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using own means of transportation (personal vehicle or public transportation).
Travel: Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
Visa: Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
