What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide Consulting: Deliver tax consulting services specifically related to state and local taxes, encompassing income, franchise, sales and use, gross receipts, and personal property taxes.
• Prepare Returns: Accurately prepare state and local income and franchise tax returns for clients.
• Inform Stakeholders: Write internal and external tax alerts, informing on current tax developments and emerging planning techniques.
• Conduct Research: Research complex tax issues thoroughly and articulate findings in technical memorandums.
• Cultivate Relationships: Develop meaningful interactions with staff across all levels and with the firm’s diverse clientele.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, or a Master’s degree in accounting or tax, indicating an early career professional.
• Experience: Actively pursuing a LLM, JD, or CPA license, demonstrating a commitment to professional development in the tax field.
• Skills: Possess strong detail-orientation, leadership qualities, problem-solving capabilities, effective communication, and analytical skills, complemented by a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
