Tax Associate | H&R Block

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Information Gathering: Meet with clients to collect necessary information and comprehend their tax situation.
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare accurate and complete tax returns utilizing training and support from experienced colleagues.
• Client Education: Explain complex tax information clearly, providing understandable recommendations to clients.
• Savings Identification: Identify potential tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products and services.
• Client Support & Problem Solving: Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information, addressing unique situations and questions with available resources, while building strong client relationships.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High school diploma/GED/equivalent. Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course is essential for this role.
• Experience: Prior experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain information clearly and ask probing questions; problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions; comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; experience in client-facing or consultative roles such as financial advising or retail sales; proven ability to recommend solutions based on customer needs; availability to work 15–35 hours per week, with up to 40 hours during peak, including evenings and weekends.
