What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Management: Participate in an engineering project from defining goals and deliverables to the completion and delivery of design, documentation, or processes.
• Design Validation: Interpret engineering work products such as models, drawings, and schematics, comparing them with actual hardware and engaging in testing to validate product functionality.
• Issue Diagnosis: Learn and apply methods for investigating and diagnosing issues with abnormally performing equipment, developing critical troubleshooting skills.
• Documentation Control: Assist in creating, reviewing, and releasing engineering documentation, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Engage in quality control inspections and learn about discrepancy disposition processes, emphasizing the importance of maintaining stringent standards in a highly regulated environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Software, Electrical, Production, or Aerospace Engineering. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a genuine interest in aerospace and defense applications, demonstrating a foundational understanding of engineering principles relevant to these fields.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability and experience in creating and managing technical drawings and associated documentation essential for manufacturing processes.
• Skills:
• Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, specifically applied to aerospace and defense contexts, including the ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical and design-related issues.
• Technical Interpretation: Competence in reading and interpreting complex engineering work products, such as models, detailed drawings, and schematics.
• Software Acumen: Familiarity with various engineering software and tools pertinent to the candidate’s specific engineering discipline.
• Documentation & Organization: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, critical for managing project timelines, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborative Abilities: Effective communication and teamwork abilities, enabling successful collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams.
