Systems engineers are integral to every phase of new product development. In the early stages, they engage with critical stakeholders—including customer decision-makers, application engineers, marketing, management, sales, IC design engineers, and technology development teams. Your Opportunity as a Systems Engineering Intern:
As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute significantly to cutting-edge projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, model, simulate, and optimize innovative MEMS transducers across multiple domains such as electric, acoustic, magnetic, etc.
- Help to drive innovative concepts towards successful commercialization through close collaboration with product lines.
- Work alongside process experts to understand and optimize MEMS manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain compact behavioral models essential for use in system simulations.
- Assess, define, and negotiate MEMS device specifications based directly on defined system requirements.
- Perform optimization processes based on the established MEMS specifications.
- Gather user requirements, translate them into clear functional specifications, and then implement effective solutions and enhancement projects.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, ECE, or a closely related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with MEMS modeling FEM tools such as COMSOL or ANSYS.
- Deep understanding of the design, manufacturing, and optimization of MEMS transducers.
- Profound understanding of fundamental physics across multiple domains, including but not limited to electric, acoustic, magnetic, and optic.
- Solid understanding of various MEMS fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in multiphysics FEM modeling (e.g., COMSOL).
- Proficiency in signal processing tools such as Matlab and Python.
- Understanding and practical experience with schematic design, PCB layout, circuit debugging, and comprehensive system testing.
- Strong hands-on capability to meticulously run experiments.
- Ability to establish strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, both internally within TI and externally with partners/customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to audiences of varied technical backgrounds.
- Proven ability to simplify complex problems and navigate situations marked by uncertainty.
- Strong ability to quickly ramp up on new systems and processes.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate seamlessly with individuals across different functions.

Pay Range:
Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total compensation package, determined within a specific range to allow for growth and development within the role. Your base pay will be tailored to your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
The base pay range for this Systems Engineering Intern role is: $31.00 – $45.00 per hour.
