Job Description

At Bose Corporation, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth — and for over 60 years, we have been a company built on innovation, excellence, and independence. Privately owned, fiercely customer-focused, and driven by our values, we continue to lead industries and transform lives through sound.

Today, Bose Corporation is entering an exciting new era. Across multiple global Business Units and Global Functions, we are shaping the future of audio technology, automotive, luxury, and premium experiences. We invite you to join us in this transformation.

About the Co-op Program

Bose Corporation is seeking students to participate in our Co-op Program who share our belief that sound is power. During the six-month co-op, students will have the chance to apply classroom learning in a hands-on work environment. Co-op participants will network across the business to gain diverse perspectives within Bose Corporation. Additionally, co-ops will connect with other students and colleagues, building valuable professional relationships for the future.

Fall Co-op: Candidates must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) in a hybrid, in-office format from July 13 through December 18, 2026. No relocation assistance is available.

Being currently authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically curious Co-op to join our Systems Engineering team and help accelerate our adoption of AI-driven requirements development, prompt engineering, and automation for complex system workflows. In this role, you will work at the intersection of systems engineering, artificial intelligence, and process improvement, focusing on how large language models (LLMs) can improve requirement clarity, reduce engineering workload, and enhance design traceability.

You will help us build internal AI tools, develop prompt guides that enable non-experts to write high-quality requirements, and experiment with agentic workflows that automate parts of the requirements lifecycle. This is a hands-on role with real impact on next-generation product development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI-Assisted Requirements Engineering

    • Develop prompt templates, style guides, and how-to documents that enable engineers with little AI experience to:
      • Write clear, verifiable, testable requirements
      • Decompose high-level needs into structured, hierarchical requirement sets
      • Detect ambiguities, inconsistencies, and missing information
    • Evaluate LLM performance on requirements-based tasks and propose improvements.
  • AI Agent Development & Experimentation

    • Prototype and test AI agents or multi-step workflows that automate:
      • Requirements decomposition
      • Requirements tracing and coverage analysis
      • Identification of engineering gaps or risks
      • Transformation of engineering documents into structured requirement sets
    • Compare agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI ReAct/Tool Use, swarm agents) for suitability in real engineering environments.
  • Systems Engineering Support

    • Work with senior systems engineers to understand product architectures and requirement flows.
    • Use AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation, and verification activities.
    • Assist in improving internal processes related to requirements authoring and quality control.
  • Research & Benchmarking

    • Stay current on research related to LLMs, safety, agentic systems, and requirements engineering.
    • Benchmark AI models and techniques for:
      • Accuracy
      • Reliability
      • Usefulness
      • Cost and compute efficiency
  • Tooling & Documentation

    • Build and maintain internal documentation, cheat sheets, and example libraries.
    • Help design UX flows for internal requirement-authoring assistants.
    • Prepare demonstrations, presentations, and knowledge-sharing materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in one of the following: Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Software Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar technical discipline.
  • Strong interest in AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
  • Ability to write clear and structured technical content.
  • Familiarity with programming in Python.
  • Experience using modern AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace) or willingness to learn rapidly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in Systems Engineering, requirements development, or model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Exposure to agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, OpenAI tool use, or similar).
  • Experience analyzing engineering specifications, test plans, or technical documentation.
