Systems Engineer – Entry Level

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a resourceful Entry-Level Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering and Integration Team, focusing on the critical Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. Job Summary

As an Entry-Level Systems Engineer, you will be an integral part of a value-driven systems engineering team, contributing to the development and evolution of strategic defense systems. You will engage in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, support requirements definition and verification, and collaborate with various teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive environmental definition documentation.
  • Create and maintain CAMEO models for environmental definitions.
  • Support the writing of clear and concise requirements.
  • Engage in other model-based systems engineering activities.
  • Contribute to verification planning for system designs.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) organization to create robust, end-to-end integrated solutions.
  • Facilitate systematic and thoughtful design evolution.
  • Support the development of test, modeling, validation, and verification activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of CAMEO.
    • Knowledge of DOORS.
    • Knowledge of Requirements writing principles and practices.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship is required.

Typically Requires

  • 1+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • An active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite at either our Valley Forge, PA, or Littleton, CO campus.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processes.
  • Experience in writing requirements documentation and coordinating document release through an approval process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong social skills and the ability to build consensus among peers while forming relationships with team members.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience in systems engineering, preferably within a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Experience with coordinating Systems Milestones reviews (e.g., System Requirements Review – SRR, Preliminary Design Review – PDR, Critical Design Review – CDR).
  • Strong understanding of fundamental systems engineering principles.
  • Possession of an active Top Secret clearance.

Work Location

This is an Onsite Full-time position. The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility in either Valley Forge, PA, or Littleton, CO.
