Job Description: Systems Engineer Co-op:

This is a co-op opportunity for students in a Bachelor’s program in Engineering or a related technical field. The role offers exposure to real-world projects within RoviSys, working alongside experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

Instrumentation & Electrical Design (40% effort):
• Creating instrument lists from P&ID drawings (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Compiling documentation for procurement of control and instrumentation hardware.
• Providing technical support for panel fabrication technicians.
• Inspecting completed control enclosures.

System Design and Configuration (30% effort):
• Participating in customer design review meetings.
• Assembling development systems using project hardware and computers.
• Configuring user interfaces and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens.
• Configuring DDC (Direct Digital Control), PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and/or DCS (Distributed Control System) control algorithms.
• Drafting system documentation from templates.
• Assisting with customer demonstrations and acceptance testing.

Onsite System Startup (30% effort):
• Installing project software and configuration onto site systems.
• Participating in point-to-point loop checks (verifying connections).
• Performing instrumentation and software calibration and tuning.
• Participating in functional tests of all systems.
• Troubleshooting installation discrepancies.
• Programming field modifications.
• Assisting with developing commissioning test plans, documentation updates, and training materials.

Qualifications:

Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Full-time student status.
Strong academic achievement (GPA 3.0 or above).
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a Technical Field related to Engineering or Systems.
