Sustainability & CSR Internship at L’Oréal
This paid, 11-week summer internship offers a full immersion into L’Oréal North America’s Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. Interns will play a key role in implementing “L’Oréal for the Future”, the company’s global program designed to transform L’Oréal towards a sustainable business model and contribute to addressing global challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Work on projects that intersect sustainability with various L’Oréal functions: Sourcing, Packaging Engineering, IT, and Marketing.
• Embed sustainable practices and reduce waste across L’Oréal’s operations: Focus on solutions like inventory management, product donations, and recycling.
• Support L’Oreal USA’s sustainable sourcing initiatives: Including supply chain data collection and analysis, and supplier engagement on topics like carbon reduction.
• Research and execute projects to advance sustainable packaging goals: This includes understanding policy and NGO perspectives on packaging.
• Support marketing teams in communicating L’Oréal’s and its brands’ sustainability efforts: Research and digest consumer insights on sustainability, develop materials for retailer engagement.
• Support the CSR team in areas like philanthropy, sustainability communications, employee learning, and engagement.
Through these projects, interns will:
• Network cross-functionally: Learn how different departments (Digital, Supply Chain, Finance, R&I, Sales) impact sustainability.
• Deepen understanding of key sustainability issues: Understand their application within global business.
• Hone key skills: Presentation, collaboration, project management, and communications.
Internship Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation between December 2025 – July 2026.
• Able to start working full-time in September 2026 upon graduation.
• Legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time, permanent, and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship.
• Willing to relocate to L’Oréal Headquarters offices in New York, NY for the internship program.
Stand-out Qualifications:
• Available to work the entirety of the 11-week summer internship program in 2025.
• Demonstrated ability to work professionally in a dynamic environment through previous internships or relevant work experience (part-time work, work study, side-gigs, freelancing, volunteering, summer work, or internships).
• Demonstrated leadership ability and interest in Sustainability and CSR through academics, extracurricular activities, or professional/volunteer work.
• Established self-awareness, understanding your own culture, identity, biases, prejudices, power, privilege, and stereotypes.
