Job Description: Survey Intern

SEH is seeking a talented Survey Intern to join their Survey team. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the field and office, contributing to the success of projects by providing accurate fieldwork and precise documentation. You’ll utilize the latest technologies, including drones, to collect data supporting future planning, design, and construction across diverse projects such as urban developments, residential properties, and transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside surveying staff on day-to-day project tasks.
• Assist with setting and pounding construction hubs.
• Aid in construction staking using total stations, data collectors, transits, levels, and GPS equipment.
• Work both in the field and in the office, gaining a comprehensive understanding of surveying practices.
• Receive mentorship from senior-level staff.

Essential Qualifications:

• Ability to set / pound construction hubs
• Ability to assist with construction staking using total stations, data collectors, transits, levels, and GPS equipment
• Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 40 pounds
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets SEH’s Driving Program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience or coursework in surveying, civil engineering, or construction management.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in surveying, construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in basic surveying procedures, construction staking methods, and an understanding of plans and easement descriptions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
