About the Job
CenterPoint Energy is seeking a highly talented and motivated student to join its team as a Supply Chain Summer Intern. The intern will work with various members of the Procurement Organization, operations, and management teams to learn hands-on about the business and the utility industry. Under the supervision of the Procurement Manager, the intern will be responsible for learning and engaging in the associated duties and activities within the Source-to-Pay functions.
Essential Functions
• Perform SAP transactions and other duties as required by CNP Procurement personnel.
• Assist in the procurement of standard materials and services from suppliers at the lowest cost, with consideration to quality, reliability, and other business requirements.
• Execute RFX activities in conjunction with ongoing bid events.
• Extract, sort, format, interpret, and communicate out various data analyses.
• Collaborate with other Summer Interns on a group project that creates a positive impact on the Procurement organization and ultimately CenterPoint Energy.
• Develop a working knowledge of associated procurement systems and processes.
Education Description
• Currently a Junior attaining a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of education towards one of the following majors: Supply Chain, Finance, Materials Management, Project Management, Business, Logistics, or other related fields.
Experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint capabilities.
