About the Supply Chain Professional Development Program (PDP) Internship:

The BASF Supply Chain Professional Development Program (PDP) is a 10 to 12-week immersive internship designed for students to gain hands-on experience within dynamic Operations and Supply Chain teams. This program offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects that support business objectives, collaborating closely with seasoned professionals to gain insights into supply chain processes and strategies.

Key Objectives & Benefits:
Skill Development: Interns will acquire essential skills in logistics, inventory management, and process optimization.
Career Acceleration: The internship provides leadership opportunities and strategic insights vital for a successful future in supply chain management.
Dynamic Environment: No two days are alike; interns will tackle diverse challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to rapidly changing situations, innovating and problem-solving in real-time.
Relocation & Exposure: BASF welcomes “mobile-minded” applicants willing to relocate, as placements may occur at any BASF site across the country (potential full-time locations include New Jersey, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and Louisiana). This enhances exposure to diverse business environments and global operations. All assignments are in-person or hybrid.

Key Areas of Impact for Interns May Include:
Customer Support & Planning: Engaging in various planning activities such as demand, import, raw material, or production planning.
Operational Efficiency: Contributing to the efficient flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers, enhancing operational streamlining and overall efficiency.
Logistics Coordination: Coordinating transportation, warehousing, and distribution, utilizing analytical skills to assess routes, manage shipping costs, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management: Overseeing the supply of products to meet customer demand, including monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and implementing inventory control systems to prevent losses and reduce costs.
Process Optimization: Continuously assessing and improving business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize productivity, potentially involving new technologies, workflow redesigns, or lean methodologies.

Professional Development & Support:
Tools & Presentation: Interns gain exposure to applications and digital tools like PowerBI, CoPilot, and SAP. At the end of the program, they will present their summer project to fellow interns, BASF employees, and senior leaders.
Mentorship: Each participant is assigned a peer mentor (a full-time program participant) who provides guidance throughout the internship. This fosters expertise development and networking opportunities at senior levels.
Networking: Interns can participate in Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), engage with alumni and executive leadership during a week-long orientation at the New Jersey headquarters, and collaborate with full-time program participants for a community service volunteer day.

Desired Candidate Profile:
Education: Student majoring in Supply Chain or Logistics.
Graduation Date: Between May 2027 and July 2029.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
Mobility: Willingness to relocate anywhere in the country during and after the program.
Experience & Skills:
• Demonstrated previous leadership experience and academic achievement.
• Active participation in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations.
• Previous internship/co-op experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with tools such as PowerBI, SAP, advanced Excel proficiency (a plus).
• Strong interest in the manufacturing or chemical industry (a plus).
• Familiarity with AI tools like CoPilot (a plus).
• Project management experience is beneficial.

Future Opportunities:
Interns will be assessed for potential returning internship offers or full-time positions within BASF’s 2-year rotational program, emphasizing lifelong learning and career development.

Compensation Data:
The competitive pay range for this internship role is $1,387 – $1,993 semi-monthly. Actual pay and any sign-on bonuses will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
