Supply Chain (Procurement/Logistics) Intern | O-I

The Tone:
This is an internship at O-I, located in Perrysburg, OH (Hybrid). O-I is a leading global producer of pure, sustainable glass packaging for a wide range of food and beverage brands, including beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks. This role offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all four areas of the supply chain, contributing to real-world projects. Interns will develop a strong foundation in supply chain operations and learn key aspects of the business.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To gain practical experience and contribute to various supply chain projects, developing a strong foundation in O-I’s operations across procurement and logistics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Procurement and Sourcing: Engage in buying and expediting processes, perform root cause analysis for invoice resolution, and conduct market intelligence research to inform sourcing events.
• Analyze Data and Optimize Processes: Conduct spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze master data for improved accuracy and efficiency, and review existing procurement and business processes to recommend enhancements.
• Manage Logistics and Inventory: Track and optimize material inventory levels, contribute to freight tendering processes, and analyze transportation spend data to identify efficiencies.
• Lead Projects and Develop Metrics: Take the lead on smaller supply chain initiatives, including creating and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory levels, service rates, and forecast accuracy.
• Contribute to Production Planning: Assist with maintaining and creating manufacturing production schedules for various production facilities and perform ad hoc supply chain analyses to support strategic decisions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management (including specializations in logistics, purchasing/sourcing, operations, and transportation), with a targeted graduation date between December 2026 and May 2027.
• Experience: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis, as O-I does not sponsor working visas for internships.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills; and effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Bonus: Previous internships are considered a significant plus for this role.
