Job Title: Supply Chain (Procurement/Logistics) Intern
About the Role:
As a Supply Chain Intern at O-I, you will gain hands-on experience and learn key aspects of O-I’s business within the Supply Chain domain. This hybrid position offers a mix of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, designed to support your success and development. Assignments and duties are driven by evolving business needs across all four areas of Supply Chain.
This role provides an invaluable opportunity to contribute to real-world projects and develop a strong foundation in supply chain operations.
Reporting Relationships: The position reports to the Logistics/Procurement Leader.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:
Assignments will vary based on business needs and may include projects within the following areas:
- Buying and Expediting processes.
- Invoice Resolution, including root cause analysis.
- Market Intelligence for Sourcing events.
- Spend Analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Master Data Analysis for improved accuracy and efficiency.
- Material Inventory Tracking and optimization.
- Reviewing Procurement and Business Processes for enhancements.
- Freight tendering processes.
- Transportation spend data analysis.
- And other dynamic supply chain initiatives.
During The Internship, You’ll Also:
- Learn fundamental business processes including plant procurement, freight tendering, data analysis, inventory tracking, and production order management.
- Be asked to lead smaller projects, where you will:
- Provide regular updates on project progress.
- Escalate issues proactively to management.
- Make improvement recommendations based on your findings.
- Projects you may lead or contribute to include:
- Creating and maintaining key Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as inventory levels, service rates, and forecast accuracy.
- Maintaining and creating manufacturing production schedules for various production facilities.
- Performing ad hoc supply chain analyses to support strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Traits:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Flexible and organized work style to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively in a fast-changing business environment.
- High level of motivation and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting.
- Detail-oriented work style with the capacity to prioritize tasks to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills are required.
Academic and Authorization Requirements:
- You must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management (including specializations in logistics, purchasing/sourcing, operations, and transportation).
- Previous internships are considered a significant plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. O-I does not sponsor working visas for internships.
- Targeted graduation date range: December 2026 and May 2027.
