About Job Description

Job Title: Supply Chain Part Time Internship

Opportunity Overview:
Utz Quality Foods is offering an opportunity for students to join their Supply Chain Department as a Part Time Intern. This internship is designed to provide students with valuable real-world experience and networking opportunities within a major food company.

Location:
State College, PA

Start Date:
July 2025

Schedule:
The internship will initially be full-time (40 hours per week) starting in July and continuing until the school semester begins. Once the school semester starts, it will transition to a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week.

Departmental Focus:
The Supply Chain Department at Utz is comprehensive, encompassing several key areas:
Customer Logistics
Demand/Supply Planning
Innovation
Purchasing
Transportation
Warehousing
The successful internship candidate(s) will be placed to work within one of these specific areas.

General Responsibilities & Learning:
Interns will be involved in working on various tasks and projects within their assigned supply chain area. The role emphasizes gaining valuable experience and networking with associates throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities (Detailed):

Demand Forecasting:
• Assist in the analysis of historical sales data to contribute to the creation of accurate demand forecasts.
Inventory Management:
• Support the maintenance of optimal inventory levels, aiming to meet customer demand while simultaneously minimizing excess stock.
• Monitor inventory turnover rates and proactively propose improvements for more efficient stock management practices.
Order Fulfillment:
• Work closely with the logistics team to coordinate the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
• Assist in optimizing order processing workflows to enhance both efficiency and accuracy.
Data Analysis:
• Utilize various data analysis tools to extract meaningful insights from supply chain data.
• Generate comprehensive reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Contribute to the development of dashboards for real-time monitoring of critical supply chain metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate effectively with diverse internal departments, including procurement, logistics, and production, to ensure seamless communication and coordination across the supply chain.
• Participate actively in regular team meetings to share updates, insights, and contribute to discussions.
Transportation/Warehousing:
• Track freight movements through direct coordination with various carriers.
• Work in conjunction with both transportation and warehouse teams to coordinate shipments and manage inventory flow.

Job Requirements:

Technical Skills: High level of competency in all Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
