Supply Chain Internship in Procurement and Logistics

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Supply Chain Management. The intern will have the chance to assist and learn from experienced professionals in various aspects of O-I’s business, specifically within Procurement and Logistics.

Responsibilities:

The intern will be tasked with various projects and assignments, potentially including:

Buying and Expediting: Assisting in the purchasing process and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
Invoice Resolution: Analyzing and resolving invoice discrepancies.
Market Intelligence: Gathering and analyzing data for sourcing events.
Spend Analysis: Evaluating spending patterns and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Master Data Analysis: Examining and improving data accuracy in the Supply Chain system.
Material Inventory Tracking: Monitoring and managing inventory levels.
Procurement and Business Process Reviews: Evaluating existing processes and recommending improvements.
Freight Tendering: Assisting in the process of sourcing and selecting transportation providers.
Transportation Spend Data Analysis: Analyzing transportation costs and identifying areas for optimization.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing/Sourcing, Operations, or Transportation.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proactive and adaptable to dynamic work environments.

During the internship:

• The intern will learn fundamental business processes including plant procurement, freight tendering, data analysis, inventory tracking, and production order management.
• They will be tasked with leading smaller projects and will be expected to provide updates, escalate issues, and make improvement recommendations to management.
• Potential projects include creating and maintaining key Supply Chain KPIs (e.g., inventory, service, forecast accuracy), managing production schedules for production facilities, and performing ad-hoc Supply Chain analyses.

Qualifications:

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
• Targeted graduation range: December 2025 to August 2026.

Compensation:

• The hourly rate for this internship is between $17-$22, depending on experience and qualifications.
