Job Description: Summer Sales Internship

This is a 10-week paid summer internship program designed for individuals passionate about a career in sales. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience in serving customers and developing sales competencies, enabling interns to make a meaningful impact within the organization.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities):
Gain hands-on experience in critical sales areas including customer service, product knowledge, sales processes, customer relationship management, and performance analysis.
Work alongside experienced sales teams, contributing to real-world projects and gaining practical insights.
Assist with shipping and receiving duties in the warehouse to understand the crucial role of supply chain and logistics in sales operations.
Participate in structured leadership and sales training sessions to enhance professional development.
Engage in various sales activities, including inside sales, outside sales, counter sales, and branch management, to gain comprehensive insight into daily branch operations.
Attend leadership panels and networking events to connect with leaders and peers across the organization.
Present a final sales project to senior leaders, showcasing learned skills and contributions.
• Experience a one-week immersive program at Ferguson headquarters in Newport News, VA, for further networking and a deeper understanding of Ferguson’s culture and values.

What You Need (Qualifications and Skills):
Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field; must be a rising junior or senior.
Availability: Ability to work 10 consecutive weeks during the summer. The internship start date is scheduled for June 1, 2026.
Attributes: Highly motivated, self-starter, competitive, customer-centric, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers.
Problem-Solving: A real-world problem solver with a willingness to “roll up their sleeves and get the job done.”
Work Ethic: Demonstrates strong teamwork, adaptability, and time management skills.
Organizational Skills: Able to navigate an ambiguous environment and possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Important Note: Upon successful completion of the internship, qualified candidates with strong performance may receive a full-time job offer. However, the position offered may not be in the same location as the internship, requiring interns to be open to the possibility of relocation.
