Purpose / General Summary of the Internship

Join JBS USA for an intensive 10-week summer internship where you will apply your unique perspective and knowledge to identify operational gaps and drive process efficiency improvements that make a genuine impact on our business. Key Responsibilities

As a Summer Operations Intern, you will be actively involved in:

  • Providing direct support to the operations team.
  • Learning and internalizing effective and efficient operations within a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Shadowing experienced professionals to understand and help maintain production practices that uphold the food safety program in the facility.
  • Gaining insight into monitoring product quality and production operations to consistently meet customer expectations.
  • Experiencing how to foster an inclusive environment where all team members are encouraged to be active participants in the business.
  • Learning to recognize and celebrate successes, and to challenge individuals to achieve their full potential.
  • Shadowing supervisors to learn how to identify and resolve problems or bottlenecks in production processes.
  • Understanding how to ensure critical production resources (materials, equipment, human resources) are available to maintain product schedules.
  • Supporting the achievement of continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Developing and implementing a practical solution to a specific problem or bottleneck identified within the operations department.
  • Building strong working relationships with hourly team members.
  • Shadowing production supervisors to learn their day-to-day operations and responsibilities.
  • Learning the basics of anticipating and determining causes of delays in shift operations and taking appropriate actions to meet production schedules.
  • Completing and presenting a project related to a significant issue within the operations department, culminating your internship experience.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Compensation & Benefits

The successful applicant for this internship position will be eligible for:

  • $21 per hour.
  • A $2,500 relocation stipend.
