Internship Overview

Key Responsibilities
As a Summer Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute significantly to our Live Operations Team through a diverse range of activities, including:
• Live Operations Support: Provide direct support to the dynamic Live Operations Team, contributing to daily activities and strategic initiatives.
• Hatchery Immersion: Shadow experienced professionals within the Hatchery to gain a comprehensive understanding of proper egg handling procedures, vaccinations, transferring processes, and chick handling techniques. You will learn the specific roles and responsibilities of each team member in this critical area.
• Broiler Farm Engagement: Witness firsthand the essential communication between JBS and our growers. Shadow broiler technicians to grasp their daily routines, and acquire in-depth knowledge of various housing systems and optimal farm conditions/operations.
• Breeder Crew Collaboration: Work alongside pullet crews in our Breeder operations, gaining practical experience in servicing, executing vaccinations, and conducting weighing procedures.
• Feed Mill Operations Tour: Experience a comprehensive tour of our state-of-the-art feed mills, observing the entire production process from raw materials to finished product. Develop an understanding of diverse feed types and the rigorous testing procedures implemented for quality assurance.
• Live Haul Observation & Assistance: Observe the complete Live Haul process, from logistics to execution, and actively assist in the unloading of trucks, gaining practical insight into this crucial logistical step.
• Impactful Project Completion: Undertake and present a significant project focused on identifying and addressing issues within the rendering department, offering your solutions and insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Currently enrolled in a four-year university or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Possess the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more as required by operational tasks.
Compensation & Benefits
The successful applicant for this position will be eligible for a competitive compensation package:
• $21 per hour
• $2,500 relocation stipend to support your move for the internship duration.
