Purpose/General Summary: Summer Operations Internship (10-Weeks)

Responsibilities:
As an Operations Intern, you will be actively involved in critical aspects of our production environment, gaining practical experience in:
- Operational Support: Providing direct support to the operations team, assisting with daily tasks and contributing to the smooth running of production processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Learning and engaging with effective and efficient operational methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement aimed at optimizing workflows and reducing waste.
- Food Safety Adherence: Shadowing experienced personnel to understand and help maintain rigorous production practices that underpin and support the facility’s comprehensive food safety program, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Quality and Production Monitoring: Gaining firsthand experience in monitoring product quality and overseeing production operations to ensure all outputs consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Team Engagement: Understanding how to cultivate an inclusive environment where every team member is encouraged to be an active participant, fully involved in the business and its success.
- Recognition and Motivation: Learning the importance of recognizing and celebrating team successes, fostering a positive and motivating work atmosphere.

- Problem Identification & Resolution: Shadowing supervisors to identify potential problems or bottlenecks within production processes, learning to diagnose issues, and supporting efforts to resolve them promptly. This includes ensuring essential production resources (materials, equipment, human capital) are readily available to maintain product schedules and support overarching continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
- Solution Implementation: Gaining practical experience in developing and implementing viable solutions to address identified problems or bottlenecks within the operational framework.
- Building Relationships: Actively engaging and creating strong working relationships with hourly team members on the production floor, understanding their perspectives and contributions.
- Supervisor Shadowing: Immersing yourself in the day-to-day operations of production supervisors, gaining a deep understanding of their responsibilities, challenges, and decision-making processes.
- Proactive Operations Management: Learning the fundamental principles of how to anticipate and determine the root causes of potential delays in shift operations, enabling proactive and appropriate actions to be taken to meet production schedules.
- Capstone Project: Completing and presenting a significant project focused on identifying, analyzing, and proposing solutions for specific issues within the operations department, culminating your internship experience.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this invaluable internship opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a four-year university or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Food Science, etc.).
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. or more as required by operational tasks.
Compensation:
The successful applicant for this position will be eligible for the following competitive compensation package:
- Hourly Wage: $21 per hour.
- Relocation Stipend: A $2,500 relocation stipend to assist with housing and moving expenses.
