What This Role Will Be Doing
The Summer Marketing Intern will support the Marketing Team in refreshing and implementing updated brand guidelines across the organization, as well as assisting with key digital marketing initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in brand management, content planning, market research, analytics, and digital marketing.
At Wausau Supply Company, our portfolio of building products requires consistent and thoughtful marketing support. This intern will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with a cross-functional team, and gain exposure to both strategic and tactical marketing activities in a friendly, collaborative environment.
Duties To Include (but Not Limited To)
Brand Management
- Assist in the rollout of updated brand guidelines across departments, ensuring consistency in visual and verbal brand identity.
- Support the creation and updating of marketing materials to reflect new brand standards.
Digital Marketing
- Participate in digital content planning, including brainstorming, scheduling, and asset organization.
- Conduct market research to identify audience trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities.
- Assist in gathering and organizing marketing analytics for reporting dashboards.
- Support influencer prospecting and outreach research for brand partnerships.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare materials for internal and external campaigns.
- Assist with basic copywriting, proofreading, and content documentation as needed.
Marketing Operations & Organizational Support
- Assist with day-to-day brand requests, primarily supporting Distributed Brands, with flexibility to help on other product lines as needed.
- Support the transition, organization, and cataloging of marketing materials within the DAM (Digital Asset Management System).
- Help build and maintain an organized image library to enhance team accessibility and workflow efficiency.
A Wausau Supply Marketing Intern Will Demonstrate
- Strong interest in marketing, branding, and/or digital content creation.
- Ability to follow and apply brand guidelines for consistency across materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization and documentation habits with high attention to detail.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn, take feedback, and contribute new ideas.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is a plus (not required).
Education / Experience
- Actively pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (junior standing preferred).
- Coursework or prior projects related to digital marketing, research, or brand development is a plus.
Working Demands / Physical Requirements
General office conditions with continuous sitting and heavy computer usage.
